«Folies mélodiques» - 2017 - Exhibition at the Château de Bouges CMN, purchased by the city of Chessy

       Stainless steel sculpture, white powder-coated finish - 20 arches / L 8 m x W 4 m x H 3.75 m

"Melodic Follies" explores the relationships between music, language, writing, and the land. This work takes the form of a diptych of "sound sculptures" created on-site, mirroring and echoing the surrounding environment. They are displayed in the park, inviting visitors to pay close attention to their immediate surroundings.

The first work, "Dance Flowers," which visitors encounter, is invisible yet audible. Installed in the flower garden, speakers broadcast an original sound composition, creating a soundscape.

This composition was created on the one hand from recordings of the electrical pulses emitted by plants during their growth (dahlias, irises, roses, carnations, pansies), on the other hand from recordings of the growth waves of trees (linden, maple, oak, birches, ginkgo, sequoia) and finally from recordings of the songs of the birds that populate the park (cuckoo, tits, magpies, blackbirds, pheasants).
