«Couloir acoustique» - 1996 -
Sound architecture : magnetic tape loop, 8 speakers, amplifier, clay coated wooden panels, coated canvas of clay powder, neon tubes, 3 detectors of presence, dim : 15.7 x 4 x 7.2 ft
The object's form evokes, on the one hand, the fundamental element of architectural form: the brick, and on the other hand, the (interstitial) space of circulation: the corridor. The void is conceived as a residual space necessary for bodily movement and fundamental to the unfolding of sound. The sound of a tear propagates as the user crosses the corridor; simultaneously, a luminous fissure is triggered through the interior walls.
