      “White Noise” 2024

      120 x 120 x 25 x 20 cm

295 plaster modules / blown glass bubble, water / speaker, mixing console, amplifier, microphone, audio cables / wooden base

This sound sculpture is installed opposite the painting “David and Goliath” by René Guido, known as “the Guide,” 17th century.

The sound artwork, placed on the floor, absorbs ambient sounds and transforms the exhibition space into an anechoic chamber. This sculpture is inspired by the acoustic diffuser panels used in recording studios. The sound composition, played on a loop, was created from nighttime recordings made in the museum (creaking sounds, streams of air). The sounds diffused within the glass bubble generate a ripple on the water's surface. The microphone connected to the sculpture allows visitors to actively participate in the water's vibrations by whispering, speaking, or shouting into the microphone.
