- Archipel Studio - The space of the world is like a vast echo chamber where the whistling of birds, those of men and those of the earth in a magical cosmic conversation, would resound and respond to each other ... This is the symphonic and enchanting scenario to which Cécile Le Talec Invites to dream through his sonorous works. His artistic research, at the confluence of language, music and landscape, is a unique adventure. An adventure that brings her from one end of the world to the other on the few steep belvederees of Mexico, the Canary Islands, China and elsewhere ... where the whistled languages are practiced. Unusual mirror languages of the spoken languages, they constitute a mode of communication and melodic exchange, made of the only breath.
For several years, the art of Cécile Le Talec has been nourished by this whistled language as well as the song of birds, the musical language and the extraordinary whistling of the earth, a sort of breathing of the world, to build narratives. Narratives where the melodic material is the matrix of a set of sculptures, photographs, drawings, sound pieces and videos that echo with these mirror languages, play with reflection, reversal and turnaround.
Sometimes based on a fictional frame, his works carry in a sort of strange and bewitching "over-world". It is also the case of another creation : "The whispers", video in black and white, partly done at Ile aux oiseaux (one of the Seven Islands off Perros-Guirec in Brittany). Certain sequences are overexposed to the limits of the visible: the image, like the sound, sculpts the space of the void. This principle of dematerialization is pushed to the extreme through "Les impurs": musical instruments made of transparent white glass (flute, drums and crystalwaker). An antinomic work between fragility and striking, she is challenged to break up during a concert-performance.
"Paradoxe Celeste"(Celestial Paradox), is a magical composition of the chinese composer Leïleï Tian. In this impulse that pushes her, on the one hand, to envisage "a communicative breath", an alternative to verbal communication, and on the other hand to go beyond material, visual or sonorous, Cécile Le Talec attempts with a very poetic to approach the essence of things, the mystery of speech.
